CHEVELLE Frontman Says New Live Songs Are Possible Singles
April 20, 2009The Pulse of Radio reports: CHEVELLE recently debuted two brand new songs live on the band's current tour, with footage of the tunes, called "Letter From A Thief" and "Sleep Apnea", quickly surfacing on YouTube (see below). Both tracks are likely to appear on the group's fifth studio album, which is due out later this year. Frontman Pete Loeffler told The Pulse of Radio that the trio wanted to take the tracks out for a test drive. "Those are possible singles that we were trying to bang out over these next six weeks, just to kind of get a vibe, like a real world feel for them," he said. "'Letter From A Thief' is sort of an old-school SMASHING PUMPKINS vibe rock song. 'Sleep Apnea' is sort of a, it's kind of a joke how when you're on tour you're always trying to catch up on your sleep. It's just a heavy rock song that I would love to hear on the radio."
CHEVELLE has spent time recording both at home in Chicago and at a studio in Nashville. There's no release date for the next album yet.
The new disc will follow up 2007's "Vena Sera".
The band is currently in the midst of a short tour that will pull into Jackson, Mississippi on Tuesday (April 21),with dates booked into late May.
